Bustling City

It's exciting just thinking about our trip to Manhattan, a.k.a. the City that Never Sleeps. However I had to mentally and physically prepare myself for the massive hordes of people that await us as we explore the city..

I really don't think the term--tourist season applies to NYC cuz basically every day of the year IS in season. I can still remember the city to be undoubtedly bright, busy and happening but also filthy, stinky, and congested all at the same time.

After a 4-hour ride via the cheap Chinatown buses (I totally dig them!), we finally pulled up in Manhattan. The city skyline view from Brooklyn was sufficient to conjure up my yearn to be back in the City =)

After settling all our stuff in the hotel, we headed straightaway out the door to savor all the sights and sounds, not to mention smells, that the city had to offer.

Taking the subway is probably the best way to get around the city besides walking. Nevertheless climbing up and down the stairs is no easy matter especially for my grandma. Also, it can get pretty tricky when it's raining. And oh my, it rained the whole week we were in Manhattan except for one day I think..But the fascinating entertainers at the stations more than made up for the nuisance.

Most of the stations didn't have elevators as well. And for some suspicious reasons, the few days that we were there, quite a number of the escalators were shut down..hmm..

Anyways, we started our journey just like every other tourist--Times Square. We visited the usual hot spots, the main 42nd street attractions, Hershey's Factory, MTV Studios, Toys R Us and so on. The tall buildings at every glimpse never failed to entice me..

After roaming the streets of Times Square, we headed to Chinatown for dinner. I have to say of all the Chinatowns in the States, I love the one in Manhattan the best. There're all kinds of stuff there and a laundry list of restaurants that'll suit any taste buds. And the food is usually delicious and cheap! Ahh, who can complain?

Oh not to mention the thing I miss most--Bakeries. If you don't know already, I love eating bread. All kinds of bread, with or without stuffing and especially anything made out of wheat. And really who can resist those cutesy cakes with those oh-so-pretty toppings?!

So there I was gawking at the rows and rows of goodies on the bakery shelves..Of course there can't be all talk and no action, I generously helped myself to a tray of assortments of buns, my favorite being the red bean buns!! That being said wasn't without quite a few long moments of hesitation and difficult decision-making..There were just too many to choose from! My mother almost couldn't fathom my affection for those red bean buns! But see you have to understand..I've been apart from my dearies for half a year now..

Boston: First Glimpse

Ahh..I’ve always loved Boston..I loved it the first time I went there a year and a half ago and I still have a thing for her now..Can’t pinpoint what exactly it is but there’s just something crisp about this beautiful city. Could be the historic background..Could be all the gorgeous buildings which withstood disastrous fire and reconstruction..Or it could just be the magical feeling she exudes.

I wanted to start the first day of our adventure (ok, second..) by walking the historic Freedom Trail but somehow plans-not-turning-out-my-way seemed to be the theme here..We ended up going to Cambridge and taking one of the many trolleys that the city has to offer.

Now I usually don’t take trolleys, tour buses and all that stuff, not that I’m being kiamsiap (afraid of parting with my money)..It’s just that I feel the best way to truly enjoy and take in a place is to walk its streets, observe its people and simply breathe in the air at every corner. And I do this while studying my many maps and guides. This way, I’ll recognize every street that I’ve come across and remember it next time.

Nevertheless this time was different as we had my elderly granny with us in tow. I had to consider her poor feet..which are no longer apt to walk too long a distance since we’ll actually need to walk all the way across the bridge to the end of the trail..and then back..Hence the trolley it is!

I have to say it was indeed a refreshing experience. We could hop on and off the trolleys to the destinations that we wanted to stop and look at. Then hop back on to the next spot. Tourguides were also on deck to explain about some of the history behind the buildings we passed by on the way.

Back to the new plan, I decided to take them over to Cambridge first to see Harvard Yard where the renowned Harvard University is located. I can tell my mom really liked it there very much.

Of all the universities that we visited during the course of our trip, I think I still like Harvard the best. Oh and of course, I had to touch John Harvard’s golden toe for good luck!!

First Stop

Either I have an extremely bad sense of direction or Atlanta has the worst road signs eva! I'm more inclined to believe the former. As an effort to save on the gold-digging parking fees if I were to park at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport for 3 weeks, I thick-skinnedly asked an awesome friend, Jesse to see if he could churn out any great ideas from that brill brain of his. And being the absolute sweetheart that he is, he agreed to let me park at his house.

I was ecstatic of coz needless to say. However, it was a totally different story in itself to get from my place to his. I decided not to take the route that Jesse's mapped out nicely for me as I wasn't too familiar with it. So I looked on Mapquest and took the usual route to Atlanta instead and proceeded from there.

Alas, the I-20 West I took was completely different from the I-20 W that Jesse was telling me about. So there I was lala-ing my way on the opposite direction down South to..none other than Birmingham, Alabama!!!

After accelerating full-speed all the way back to the A-T-L, I met up with Jesse and he rushed us to the airport. Fortunately, we made it right on time with not a minute to spare. One minute later and the airline would've probably slammed the door on us.

It was rather chilly in Boston when we arrived. Apparently a cold front moved its way to the Northeast region after some thunder storms the day before (wow, my stint as a weathercaster definitely paid off here!). So we quickly scrambled into our sweater to ward off the cold.

Met up with Yee Lee for dinner before she left for Berlin the next morning. It was nice to hangout with an old friend again! Who knows when we'll meet next...

UGA Graduation

Well well, this day came faster than I thought! I've never given much thought to graduation until my last semester. But the idea didn't sink in until much much later in the semester. I guess when you're in school and having the time of your life, you kinda take it for granted, thinking the real world will be as kind to you as the pampered lifestyle in college.

The UGA graduation ceremony wasn't as harrowing as I thought it would be, as described by previous graduates. I guess it had much to do with the rather pleasant weather. I was a really nice day out. It didn't get too warm until later in the day, after the ceremony, thank goodness or else I'd probably have suffered a heatstroke, admitted to St. Mary's and..ok..let's not go there..

I'm proud to be standing among the thousands of fellow graduates on the field of our grand Sanford Stadium (It's the 5th largest college stadium in the nation). The keynote student speaker did a wonderful job combining all the elements so crucial to our college life with our future task ahead after graduation, making it a to-the-point and humorous speech.

~~~I did it!!! YAY ~~~
Bittersweet Nostalgia
I have not only one, not two, but three..yes three opportunities to wear my graduation robe, which I'm sure I'll never wear again after tomorrow..Gosh, we practically had to run from one event to another. Man I feel important =p
Early in the morning, we attended the Pride Of Grady ceremony at the Classic Center. I was awarded the William Ray Scholarship at the event. The reception following was kinda embarrassing though...how so you may wonder? Yes I wondered too..We were served 2 huge plates of..star-shaped sugar cookies coated with sugar all over..yah...it was that bad..
So we headed to Downtown for a quick lunch and dashed to get a bouquet of flowers at granny's insistance. She said no girl should graduate without a bouquet of nice flowers =p Plus, it's also a gift from my cousins back home.
At 1pm, we returned promptly to the Classic Center for Grady College's convocation ceremony. I was pestered by anxiety the whole time as International Student Life's (ISL) Graduation ceremony was exactly an hour following this. And it meant a great deal for me to attend ISL's as all my closest friends and company would be there.
I have to say though Grady's ceremony was pretty grand with all the graduates seated on stage. After 2 long speeches, names were finally announced so that graduates can receive their Grady keychain as the key to graduation from the prestigious college.
Alas, my major was assigned to be the last batch to receive our keychain. My mind was spinning with ideas to run outta there as the clok ticks closer and closer to three. My cellphone kept vibrating as well as Allie continuously called to remind me to make a move. She also *tricked* me into believing that I was supposed to be presenting an award to Leigh, which I would delve into later...
So after careful deliberations, I decided I could wait no longer and cut in line so that I can grab mine and sprint out of there asap. Thus, I graciously slipped into the Telecomm major line and proceeded to receive my keychain nonchalantly. It took me a few more steps toward the stairs before I scurried out to fetch my car.
Fortunately my scrupulous master plan worked out perfectly. My mom and granny were waiting for me as I pulled in front of the Classic Center. From there, I sped to Memorial Ballroom as fast I as I could without getting a ticket.
Once we arrived, Allie was waiting for me with Laura's brother so that they could park my car somewhere without a summon. Gosh, I can't thank Allie enough for being such an awesome spot so that I could attend graduation. I pity my mom and granny though for having to dart here and there with me like a madwoman!
We made good with timing as I had a couple minutes to take a breather before I was supposed to give my speech. I wanted the opportunity badly so that I could thank my mom publicly for enabling me to realize and live my wildest dream. A couple drops of tear welled up in my eyes although I promised myself to not be a crybaby.
Nevertheless I felt better when my roommate told me she couldn't help but shed a few tears when listening to my speech. At least I wasn't the only baby..haha.. but really it's what matters when what you say means something to someone else.
Then came the craziest part of the ceremony. Apparently the part where I was supposed to present an award to Leigh turned out to be the other way around. Trust Victor to plot a scheme just to make sure I get there!
I was presented with the Saeba Mohammed Award for demonstrating leadership, academic and social qualities during my tenure as a student at UGA. I was genuinely taken by surprise and gratitude when Leigh announced I was the recipient for this year's award. Best still, the award comes with a scholarship award of an undisclosed amount yet!
Now the crybaby in me took charge again as I was a stone throw away from full-fledged gleeful welling up..haha =p Apparently all guests but the graduates were given a copy announcing the receipient along with my achievements. How tricky of ISL!!
I love my UGA/Malaysia sash. The colors just blend so well together making my robe a strikingly stunning ensemble. The reception following was warm and beautiful simultaneously. In all, I had the best time yet!!!
Old Friend in Town
Haven't seen a really good friend of mine, Matt, in a long long time..In fact, since we last attempted to go clubbing in Atlanta June of last year. Well, I was still underaged then and we drove around Buckhead and downtown area to no avail. No bar would take us in, or rather me...=( So we ended up roaming endlessly around the metro area..
Anyways, Matt is back in Athens after a year in China. He wandered to the Ancient City after graduating last year and has been taking up Beijing by storm! haha..
I didn't feel good about abandoning my mom and grandma alone at home for the whole day, considering I had to run off to work in the middle of the day. So I decided to call lunch off and invited him home for a hearty meal instead. And boy was it good...
We, or rather my mom, whipped by Pork Loin with Mushroom with guidance from master chef granny. I just kinda gave the stew an occasional stir ^^ The pork and mushroom were so tender, moist and bursting with flava, they were just outta this world...We also had Asparagus stir-fry with Sambal Prawns. Another marvelous dish. And then there was Tofu drizzled with Minced Meat. I've gotta say, nothing beats a lovely home-cooked meal =)
And of course, Allie worked her wonders with the shakers as well. She made us some martinis. Mom had the same thing as me--Rum with O.J while the others indulged in the pleasantly evil Dirty Martinis.
My grandma started to chat with Matt in Chinese. It's amazing how much she learned about him in the little fraction of time while we got the food ready. She always complains how she doesn't know what to talk about with a stranger, but then she'll end up the one with the most to talk about and non-stop at that. That's just who she is =) Bubbly and cute!
The funny part was my grandma ended up having 3/4 of a glass of martini. She and mom got a tad drunk after awhile and had to excuse themselves to sneak in some dozing time.. It was hilarious watching them sashay up the stairs into bed =p
It was quite a chore getting Matt to smile a perfect one, it either came out too serious or too huge of a grin ^^ But he's great just the way he is! It's always remarkable to see a good friend. I never thought I would see him this soon again, but then again I'm extremely glad I did cuz who knows when we'll get to see each other again next time around...
Mom's first trip to the States!
Scrub the bath-tub, check. Vacuum the carpet, check. Do the laundry, check. Hide any poignant evidence, check...Coast is clear.
Mom and grandma rolled into town today! Dashed to the airport to pick them up in the afternoon. Man, my car is just too scorching hot. Since moi ain't got 2 extra penny to fix the A/C thus my passengers and I usually have to succumb to the wave of sweltering heat spinning inside the car, which resembles the inside of an oven to be honest.
During winter, it's still bearable cuz the heater does work. But comes summer, all hell breaks loose. Today's smoldering sun didn't help too much either. I was practically baking and was soaked in sweat doing nothing but driving.
But eh..I'm not complaining too much as long as my baby takes me from point A to point B. It's still better than taking the no. 11. (meaning walking on your feet) So far it's been good to me as well so..touchwood...
And boy my grandma and mom bought me truckloads of food, all the way from home!!! My grandma even brought me my utmost favorite--Tao Sa Piah (red bean pastry)... hmm...had them for dinner. Simply irresistible, I'm telling ya...The mountain of food they brought will probably be enough to last me for another half a year or so =p At least that'll save half my grocery bill until someone extends his/her kindness and decides to hire me..
~Crazy Fun Weekend~
Wanted to try something refreshing and new. After a frantic search, we finally decided to try-out some Jamaican food at Jamaica Mi Crazy. I've passed by it so many times but never really given much thought to it. So walah..
Mariam, Allie, Ashley and I headed over for dinner and when we got through the door, there were a whole buncha kids and parents on one side of the room. Apparently some kid was having a birthday party. And they had a deejay to spin songs! How cool is that? I mean the kids have got to be no more than like 8?!
I don't think the kids were enjoying the songs too much though cuz the deejay was playing like hip-hop and stuff. Whatever happened to happy children's songs? So the kids were just pretty much rolling on the ground..haha..And really, the music was just vociferous..to the point where I jerked a tad every time a new song came on.
Hmm..the food was okay. The appetizer was delicious with a sampler of yucca fries, wings, shrimps, curry puffs and the amazing plantains. My main dish was so-so. The chicken was really succulent tho'. But I think all the dishes were a little too oily for my liking. I could feel the oil clogging up my heart..eww..
So with the blasting music, we had to practically yell at the top of our lungs to be heard from across the table. At one point, we were having a conversation about some 'grown-up' stuff. And of course the deejay had to stop the music right when one of us was talking about something rather unsuitable for kids. It happened twice and we cracked up so bad! Was he eavesdropping somehow..hmm..
Around midnight, we finally headed over to Wutherbar for Benjamin's birthday party. They were having a Salsa/R&B night (mostly salsa tho'). Everyone seemed to dance up a storm. Unfortunately for me, I don't really dig the salsa scene. Don't get me wrong, I've tried learning several times but somehow it just doesn't stick. I guess it's a trait you have to practice regularly to keep up with.
But what the heck, I just swayed to the music anyways. Why bother about what other people think of your moves right? As long as you're having fun then so be it! Oh the funniest part of the night was when Benjamin's friends decided to bum him up and down on--guess what--his bum! And let's see, so he's turning 24 so that's 24 bums on the bum. Gosh..that's harsh. It was mightily hilarious though watching Benjamin being bummed ^^ ~~Happy Birthday~~
Ugh..2 nights of drinking in a row..should stop for awhile now..especially since mom and grandma are rolling into town tomorrow..keke ^___^
From Small To tiny...
Went out for MSSA's farewell dinner last night. Sob sob..so many farewells to bid, so many tears to shed..Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get to touch base with these wonderful souls that I've gotten to know at some point in my life..
Oh if you're wondering what fancy-schmancy meaning MSSA bears..not too original actually. Basically 'Malaysian-Singaporean Student Association'. What's hilarious though is we only have one Singaporean member which happens to be our beloved president..haha..
Kinda sad, the population of Malaysian students at UGA is rapidly declining..I heard during the peak time in the early 90s, there were like 50 over folks from home. But come this fall, there'll only be like 5..yes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I can count all heads with 5 fingers.
Nevertheless I have to stress that although we're small in number but we're enormous in effort and sincerity! We always give our best during Coffee Hour and all festivals!
So back to last night, we headed to the relatively new Siri Thai Cuisine restaurant. Upon arrival, we were mersmerized by the authentic decorations and mellow atmosphere.
We started with the fabulous appetizer. It had tofu, shrimp rolls, wanton, and shrimps served with wondrous lemon peanut sauce and sweet chilli sauce. Then we savored some much-needed Tom-Yum soup! Allie and I were the only ones who went with the 3-degree hot spicy. The others wimped out with only a mild. But really, I could feel the bonfire spreading through every inch of lining in my stomach. Smoking!
The Gai-Yang was really good. The rice was very flavorful. The Eggplant Basil was tasty with a good combination of spice and flava.
Can't go wrong with Green Curry. However it wasn't as good as I thought. It was pretty creamy. I guess it is Thai-style afterall. And of course, can't go to a Thai restaurant and not order Pad-Thai. It's like going to Thailand without visiting Bangkok. Might as well not go right? I think I've made my point =) But the noodles were extremely scrumptious.
After dinner, we headed over to The Winery for 'a couple' of drinks with Emily and some other friends. That couple of drinks kinda doubled along the way..But I really enjoyed the champagne though..especially the Chambord & Champagne. It was definitely a fantabulous night people-watching and socializing!
From Me To You~
Just had to share this with ya ^____^
Words of Wisdom that seem reminescent of some of our college
friendships-- don't forget the good times *and* bad times that we've shared!
Promises I vow to you...
1. When you are sad - I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue - I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile - I will know you finally got laid ^^
4. When you are scared - I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried - I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be and to quit whining.
6. When you are confused - I will use little words.
7. When you are sick - Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have. After you recuperate, we can continue to be the best of friends again.
8. When you fall - I will point and laugh at your silly butt.
This is my oath to you...and I pledge it till the end.
Why? You may ask, because you are my friend.
p/s: Remember:
A good friend will help you move.
A really good friend will help you move a body...shh...
Time for Reflection
Wah..damn sien (boring)..had my only Japanese finals today..And finals week hasn't really started yet. Guess I should be feeling lucky unlike some folks who are busting their arse for some serious cramming sessions *wink wink*. Ok I shall move on from this sensitive subject before someone smacks me.
Hmm..time really does flash by doesn't it? Come to think about it, I've been in Athens for almost 3 years now. Let me take you on a little flashback to day one I stepped into this quaint little Classic City.
August '02:
I can still remember so vividly that night at the airport, bidding farewell to my dearest friends and family as I'm about to embark on another passage of my life by myself. Not to mention, it was the first time I was gonna hop on a plane, and what's more to another country halfway across the globe!
And when I say halfway across the globe, I'm dead serious..It literally took like a day and a half to get to the States from KL. My goodness, my butt was pretty much flattened esp during the 15 hours Taiwan-Chicago flight. Nightmare!!
So anyways, when I got to Atlanta Hartsfield Airport, I had no clue where to go and I had these 2 enormous luggages PLUS 2 carry-ons..yeah, practically moved my whole room here ^^ So this porter came over to help me. I was like aww how helpful! After getting all my crap to the van, he stood there for a minute.
I was like okay, what's this dude's problem?! Then he explained to me the tipping fee..ahh..so that was my first encounter to the tipping system here. I kinda foolishly gave him a $5 bill, but mainly cuz that was the smallest change I had. I could've sworn his eyes were gleaming with the golden $ sign for like a whole minute.
Off he trotters then..or so I thought..But no, he decided to rest his foot comfortably on the ground. Then he asked for my phone number. I was like erm..I don't have a phone. And he said "what?! how could someone not have a phone?" By then, I felt like blasting him off by saying 'dude, I just touched down in this country, so bugger off will ya!' (bare in mind I've traveled through 4 countries in the past 30 hours or so with minimum sleep, surviving on plane food..so not too pleasant on the mood department). But of course being the demure person that I am, I just smiled and shrugged.
Then the genius that he was, he proceeded to give me his number instead and reminded me not once, but twice to give him a call if I ever wanted a personal tour of the A-T-L (Atlanta). I was thinking, yeah right...dream on lah buddy.
The whole week after that was the amazing International Student Life Orientation. Had the best time eva! Didn't even have time to think about anything else as I attempt to take in every new thing that came into sight. After that, classes began and so did everything fun =)
Best Memories:
1) Hanging out with close friends
2) Discovering all the best restaurants around town
3) International Student Life activities
4) Bowling & Movie nights
5) Jesse's, Allison's and our parties
6) Road trip to Boston, NYC by myself winter '03
7) Exploring downtown Athens
8) Dawgs After Dark
9) Vacation during breaks: San Diego, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Savannah, Tybee Island, Miami, Key West, New Orleans, Mississippi
10) My 21st birthday
Fast forward to October '04:
Things seemed to have taken off to a good start. Then I guess life was just too good to be true. Everything just spiralled downhill overnight. It seemed as if everything that could possibly go wrong did in fact take on a wrong toll..I think my life at that point hit rock bottom, solid..All the way..
There would be days when I felt like a total zombie, completely dispirited and disheartened. Fortunately I received unconditional love by my closest company who helped me pull through that particularly challenging period of my life...You know who you are..A heartfelt Thank You to you for being supportive of me..
Although this past year has been a pretty rough one, I managed to pull through with minor scathes. I'm extremely glad to have chosen this beautiful town for my college years. I'm sure when I leave, I'll definitely miss all the wonders that this town has to offer... Stay classy Athens!
A Night to Remember...
In exactly 2 weeks' time, I'll be closing the chapter to school days, tests and midnight oil burning..In honor of that day, my beloved roommate, Allie decided to throw my 2 other roommates(graduating as well) and I a graduation dinner, with an extra oomph of class and elegance...
She even went out of her way to assemble this beautiful fresh peach Roses arrangement..cost a bomb just for half a dozen of them, these blood sucking beauties..Now I can almost grasp the *sincerity* when a guy presents his beloved with a dozen roses..They don't come cheap to say the least!!
And I also invited along several of our closest buddies to celebrate this festive occasion! Champagne to start with. Cheers gals!
It's been more than a year since I've known Allie..She's definitely one heck of a sweetheart. Not to mention, another heck of a magnificent cook! My goodness, just looking at the pictures to follow is enough to wet your palate. Don't you just secretly hope you were here savoring those scrumptious courses! kaka..Get ready now...
For starters, we had a Cheese Plate with Gruyere and Blue Cheese served on top Pumpernickel bread or Crackers with Apples and Grapes on the side. The Gruyere has got to be one of the best cheeses I've had!
Emily brought her to-die-for Spinach Dip with Pita points, made out of spinach, water chestnut, cream. Awful lot sweet of her to bring a little something something everytime she attends our party!
Oohh..another satiating dish of Bagel Crisps with Eggplant Salsa. The salsa was simply oozing with a marvelous taste that pleases even the most refined palate. The crisps gave a definite crunch to every bite as well.
The exquisiteBruchettas has got to be *the* dish that everyone pretty much gushed about! It was just absolute divine..And it's actually a fairly simple combination of the best of the best seared cheese and tomatoes. And oh boy, they got snatched up in a glimpse!
Another titillating dish--Pate on Baguette. Notice how the pate is spread so evenly on the baguette? Yes, that's my doing..An obvious indication of what zodiac sign I belong to..haha..But back to the Pate (chicken liver), some people may not like it but it's really their loss cuz it's delightful!
So now that we're done with appetizers that are drool-worthy..yes, that's right..We've only gone through the *beginning* of what's more to come, and oh yeah, it only gets better...Oh did I mention it's gonna get better yet?
Blinis with sour cream and Caviar..Need I elaborate further? Just imagine those blinis filled with heavenly Caviar, sitting on top of a dollop of sour cream..hmm...What say you? Imagination seems tobe failing you at the moment? Now now, don't worry cuz...
You can watch me savor a bite of it...muahaha..
Master Chef Allie with her creation of Tortellini Skewers with Lemon Aioli sauce. The lemony flavor of the sauce adds a nice touch to the tortellinis. Definitely sheds another light on tortellinis, in my humble opinion..
One of my list of favorite dishes--Spicy Honeyed Shrimp. And since it's my favorite, I promptly treated myself to a generous second helping ^___^ The Peanut sauce is the closest I can get to the wondrous Satay sauce back home. Long after the shrimp skewers became history, I couldn't resist mopping up the sauce with pita bread instead..haha..
Artichoke Hearts with Seared Scallops in Orange Dill sauce. These yummies were a tad bit messy to eat, considering we were wearing nice dresses..So the secret is to chow the whole thing down at one shot. Also, not forgetting to lick my fingers after that..ooh so yummy..
These Brie and Pear Tartlets were dandy. I'm running out of adjectives here! The best part was they were served straight out of the oven--so Spanking hot!
Wow...Time-out...By this time, all of us were pretty stuffed. Thank god we were wearing dresses so there was plenty of room to breathe and expand our waistline without resorting to unbuttoning, if we were wearing say, jeans..We learnt well from past experience =p
So while we allowed some time for our digestive system to work its wonders, we sipped on Martinis with a hint of Vermouth and chatted about everything under the sky.
Oh and also, if you're having a troubled time pronouncing the names of those delicacies mentioned, don't fret cuz I'm with you on this. I've asked Allie for god-knows-how-many-times and honestly, I still can't get them right half the time..I'll be like, neh the you know, pasta thingy on a stick.. Nevertheless the near impossible names make it so much more fun at the same time!
Not long after, Ashley demanded desserts. I can't say there were any objections to that. But really, dessert was fairly healthy, with the cutesy Fruit Phyllo Tarts. Not too overwhelming yet enticing at the same time. I can just picture myself dipping my fingers in the bowl and pop those luscious cherries/blueberries drenched with cream cheese & yoghurt..
This Summer Cooler ended our night of dining fiesta on a sweet note. The Raspberry sorbet mixed excellent with the fresh Strawberries drizzled in Cherry flavored Brandy was outta this world! Did I scoop a second helping? keke..now let's not go there.
Well, there goes our diet for the month with all the food we chowed down. Funny how everyone kept *complaining* they're stuffed and can't eat no more, but then she turns around and reach for another tartlet or cracker..haha..
This is THE BEST graduation present eva! What can a gal ask for more than this--surrounded with fantabulous friends and a scrumptious lost-count-how-many-course dinner..It's practically Heaven on Earth! Well actually, a job sounds pretty good too at this point. Anyone looking to hire me? Don't hesitate to shoot me an email ^^ really..
Thanks so much Allie! You rock gurl!! Love, hugs and kisses..All the best to everyone who's graduating as well! Best in finals the rest.
