A Night to Remember...

In exactly 2 weeks' time, I'll be closing the chapter to school days, tests and midnight oil burning..In honor of that day, my beloved roommate, Allie decided to throw my 2 other roommates(graduating as well) and I a graduation dinner, with an extra oomph of class and elegance...

She even went out of her way to assemble this beautiful fresh peach Roses arrangement..cost a bomb just for half a dozen of them, these blood sucking beauties..Now I can almost grasp the *sincerity* when a guy presents his beloved with a dozen roses..They don't come cheap to say the least!!

And I also invited along several of our closest buddies to celebrate this festive occasion! Champagne to start with. Cheers gals!

It's been more than a year since I've known Allie..She's definitely one heck of a sweetheart. Not to mention, another heck of a magnificent cook! My goodness, just looking at the pictures to follow is enough to wet your palate. Don't you just secretly hope you were here savoring those scrumptious courses! kaka..Get ready now...

For starters, we had a Cheese Plate with Gruyere and Blue Cheese served on top Pumpernickel bread or Crackers with Apples and Grapes on the side. The Gruyere has got to be one of the best cheeses I've had!

Emily brought her to-die-for Spinach Dip with Pita points, made out of spinach, water chestnut, cream. Awful lot sweet of her to bring a little something something everytime she attends our party!

Oohh..another satiating dish of Bagel Crisps with Eggplant Salsa. The salsa was simply oozing with a marvelous taste that pleases even the most refined palate. The crisps gave a definite crunch to every bite as well.

The exquisiteBruchettas has got to be *the* dish that everyone pretty much gushed about! It was just absolute divine..And it's actually a fairly simple combination of the best of the best seared cheese and tomatoes. And oh boy, they got snatched up in a glimpse!

Another titillating dish--Pate on Baguette. Notice how the pate is spread so evenly on the baguette? Yes, that's my doing..An obvious indication of what zodiac sign I belong to..haha..But back to the Pate (chicken liver), some people may not like it but it's really their loss cuz it's delightful!

So now that we're done with appetizers that are drool-worthy..yes, that's right..We've only gone through the *beginning* of what's more to come, and oh yeah, it only gets better...Oh did I mention it's gonna get better yet?

Blinis with sour cream and Caviar..Need I elaborate further? Just imagine those blinis filled with heavenly Caviar, sitting on top of a dollop of sour cream..hmm...What say you? Imagination seems tobe failing you at the moment? Now now, don't worry cuz...

You can watch me savor a bite of it...muahaha..

Master Chef Allie with her creation of Tortellini Skewers with Lemon Aioli sauce. The lemony flavor of the sauce adds a nice touch to the tortellinis. Definitely sheds another light on tortellinis, in my humble opinion..

One of my list of favorite dishes--Spicy Honeyed Shrimp. And since it's my favorite, I promptly treated myself to a generous second helping ^___^ The Peanut sauce is the closest I can get to the wondrous Satay sauce back home. Long after the shrimp skewers became history, I couldn't resist mopping up the sauce with pita bread instead..haha..

Artichoke Hearts with Seared Scallops in Orange Dill sauce. These yummies were a tad bit messy to eat, considering we were wearing nice dresses..So the secret is to chow the whole thing down at one shot. Also, not forgetting to lick my fingers after that..ooh so yummy..

These Brie and Pear Tartlets were dandy. I'm running out of adjectives here! The best part was they were served straight out of the oven--so Spanking hot!

Wow...Time-out...By this time, all of us were pretty stuffed. Thank god we were wearing dresses so there was plenty of room to breathe and expand our waistline without resorting to unbuttoning, if we were wearing say, jeans..We learnt well from past experience =p

So while we allowed some time for our digestive system to work its wonders, we sipped on Martinis with a hint of Vermouth and chatted about everything under the sky.

Oh and also, if you're having a troubled time pronouncing the names of those delicacies mentioned, don't fret cuz I'm with you on this. I've asked Allie for god-knows-how-many-times and honestly, I still can't get them right half the time..I'll be like, neh the you know, pasta thingy on a stick.. Nevertheless the near impossible names make it so much more fun at the same time!

Not long after, Ashley demanded desserts. I can't say there were any objections to that. But really, dessert was fairly healthy, with the cutesy Fruit Phyllo Tarts. Not too overwhelming yet enticing at the same time. I can just picture myself dipping my fingers in the bowl and pop those luscious cherries/blueberries drenched with cream cheese & yoghurt..

This Summer Cooler ended our night of dining fiesta on a sweet note. The Raspberry sorbet mixed excellent with the fresh Strawberries drizzled in Cherry flavored Brandy was outta this world! Did I scoop a second helping? keke..now let's not go there.

Well, there goes our diet for the month with all the food we chowed down. Funny how everyone kept *complaining* they're stuffed and can't eat no more, but then she turns around and reach for another tartlet or cracker..haha..

This is THE BEST graduation present eva! What can a gal ask for more than this--surrounded with fantabulous friends and a scrumptious lost-count-how-many-course dinner..It's practically Heaven on Earth! Well actually, a job sounds pretty good too at this point. Anyone looking to hire me? Don't hesitate to shoot me an email ^^ really..

Thanks so much Allie! You rock gurl!! Love, hugs and kisses..All the best to everyone who's graduating as well! Best in finals the rest.
