~Crazy Fun Weekend~

Wanted to try something refreshing and new. After a frantic search, we finally decided to try-out some Jamaican food at Jamaica Mi Crazy. I've passed by it so many times but never really given much thought to it. So walah..

Mariam, Allie, Ashley and I headed over for dinner and when we got through the door, there were a whole buncha kids and parents on one side of the room. Apparently some kid was having a birthday party. And they had a deejay to spin songs! How cool is that? I mean the kids have got to be no more than like 8?!

I don't think the kids were enjoying the songs too much though cuz the deejay was playing like hip-hop and stuff. Whatever happened to happy children's songs? So the kids were just pretty much rolling on the ground..haha..And really, the music was just vociferous..to the point where I jerked a tad every time a new song came on.

Hmm..the food was okay. The appetizer was delicious with a sampler of yucca fries, wings, shrimps, curry puffs and the amazing plantains. My main dish was so-so. The chicken was really succulent tho'. But I think all the dishes were a little too oily for my liking. I could feel the oil clogging up my heart..eww..

So with the blasting music, we had to practically yell at the top of our lungs to be heard from across the table. At one point, we were having a conversation about some 'grown-up' stuff. And of course the deejay had to stop the music right when one of us was talking about something rather unsuitable for kids. It happened twice and we cracked up so bad! Was he eavesdropping somehow..hmm..

Around midnight, we finally headed over to Wutherbar for Benjamin's birthday party. They were having a Salsa/R&B night (mostly salsa tho'). Everyone seemed to dance up a storm. Unfortunately for me, I don't really dig the salsa scene. Don't get me wrong, I've tried learning several times but somehow it just doesn't stick. I guess it's a trait you have to practice regularly to keep up with.

But what the heck, I just swayed to the music anyways. Why bother about what other people think of your moves right? As long as you're having fun then so be it! Oh the funniest part of the night was when Benjamin's friends decided to bum him up and down on--guess what--his bum! And let's see, so he's turning 24 so that's 24 bums on the bum. Gosh..that's harsh. It was mightily hilarious though watching Benjamin being bummed ^^ ~~Happy Birthday~~

Ugh..2 nights of drinking in a row..should stop for awhile now..especially since mom and grandma are rolling into town tomorrow..keke ^___^
