It's been awhile...
It's hard to keep promises. That's one thing for sure.
The past couple of months have been one of the busiest in my close to a quarter century's worth of life. I went through so many things within this period of time that it's hard to ascertain that the time had really passed.
I've been working a lot of late. And when i say a lot, i mean a lot.
I went through 3 jobs, a couple part-times and a couple more freelances. Life is hard, ain't it?
Well, not really. I really think it depends on how you view the process and outcome of it. I feel that I learnt and grew a lot during this time where i was practically under deadline almost every other week. It was definitely not fun at all to say the least. But I know for sure that I can handle almost anything thrown my way after this.
Nevertheless, i feel that my body suffered the consequences as a result of my overboard workload. My exercise routine was reduced to a level nowhere near the lowest recommendation of the American Health Association. I caught the flu and was sick for the entire month of December while adding on a bad stomach (a result of leftover dinner, ewww...) in the midst of my illness marathon.
Even though I was bogged down by sickness, I still had an awesome Christmas! I went to Vegas with a bunch of friends and boy did we have a jolly good time there. We started our journey at literally 4 in the morning in fear of the exhausting traffic jam. Fortunately our road trip there was smooth and sound.
I attended Leehom's concert in Caesar's Palace and i even got a chance to get up close and personal while i interviewed him along with 2 other fellow reporters. We were given 10 minutes of his precious time and we all thought he was indeed extremely nice, although he must have been exhausted from the rehearsal and concert.
We didn't do anything too exciting or wicked while there. We just indulged in each other's company, opening up presents from our secret givers, and exclaiming over them. I received a back&neck massager from David, which was really nice as I badly needed one.
The journey back to Vegas was the lesser part of the trip. We were stuck in the infamous traffic for who-knows-how-long. It took us roughly double the time to get home. However it wasn't too bad a drive as we played all sorts of games and shared some deep-kept secrets in an effort to beat the boredom.
New Year eve was fun and exciting. I went skiing with a bunch of friends. It was my first time and boy was it exhilarating! However, the weather didn't cooperate too much and it rained and snowed right after we started our lesson. Needless to say, all of us were drenched wet inside and out. We were all shivering and almost frozen by the end of the day and we decided to call it quits way before the closing time.
I can't say i've grasped the technique of skiing but at least i managed a few times down the slope without tumbling over. But then of course there were a couple of times where I fell flat on my face, when I was knocked down by a father-and-kid combo. And then there was another time where in an effort to avoid running down other people, i kind of veered into into dryland..hehe ^___^ The trip would probably go down as one of those memorable hilarious excursions.
